Spring is in full swing, the May long weekend has passed, and that means it’s time to head back to the cottage and get it ready for another season of relaxation, family fun, and Georgian Bay memories. Here are five must-do tasks for opening up your cottage this year:
1. Inspect for Winter Damage
Start with a full walk-around of your property. Look for fallen branches, missing shingles, damaged siding, or anything else that may have been affected by wind, snow, or ice. Don’t forget to check the roof, eavestroughs, and foundation for cracks or leaks. Inside, look for signs of moisture or pests that may have made themselves at home over the winter.
2. Check Plumbing and Water Systems
